South Cove Community Health Center was incorporated in 1972 by a group of volunteers in response to the inadequate provision of primary care services for the local residents in Boston Chinatown due to their cultural and linguistic barriers.
Mission
South Cove is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of Asian Americans in Massachusetts, with a special focus on the medically underserved. This mission is accomplished by providing high quality, community-based health care and programs which are accessible, affordable, as well as linguistically and culturally competent for these populations.
With 150 bilingual staff members today, the health center is serving more than 20,000 patients and 100,000 visits each year at four different locations.
Division of Development
The Division of Development secures the resources necessary to maintain the availability and stability of a variety of health services and programs that are not generally compensated. Complementary with primary care services, these programs enhance the health status and quality of life of our community.
