South Cove Community Health Center offers a full range of family planning services to women and their families through the OB/GYN unit. This sometimes means counseling and/or diagnostic testing for women who have tried but have not yet become pregnant. More often, women seek contraceptive services. Children are very precious and very important to our families. Contraception can enable a woman and her partner to decide when they feel best able to start their family. Many contraceptive methods are available at South Cove Community Health Center. These include: oral contraceptives, IUD's, diaphragms, Norplant, foam and condoms and tubal ligation. Of these methods, only latex condoms can provide protection against HIV/AIDS or other diseases passed on by having sex. If you need further information about any of these methods, please make an appointment to see our family planning counselor or one of our health providers. Availability Please do not let lack of health insurance stop you from coming to visit us. The health center receives funding from the ABCD Family Planning Project to pay for care and counseling necessary for students and low-income women with no insurance. Come by and see us with questions or concerns you may have. We are here to help you. If you have any questions, please call (617) 521-6839.
